Tell us a little about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area and your occupation:
I've lived in the Athol, Idaho area since 1964. I was drafted into the Army in 1970 - 1976. I went to work for Lakes Highway District in 1972 and retired in 2005 and have been a Commissioner since the Fall of 2007. I've been married since 1973 with 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
1. Do you have experience as an elected official and if so, what was your position, and how would you describe your voting record?
Yes, I've been a Commissioner since 2007, currently Chairman of the Board. I would describe my voting record as conservative.
2. Please tell us about your activity as a Republican. Have you previously voted for candidates of other parties? If yes, explain.
My voting record would reflect that I consistently vote Republican.
3. What is the purpose of government?
To provide quality decisions adhering to the Constitution of the United States.
4. Describe why you are running for this particular office. What are your qualifications? What are your goals?I am running to continue providing quality roadways and infrastructure as well as protect the taxpayers money.
5. Describe experiences where you are or have been engaged such as non-profit organizations, clubs, churches, boards, commissions, etc., where you have been of service to others.
I was involved in the creation of the Athol Fire Protection District, also known as Timberlake Fire District where I also served as the Deputy Chief and later, Chief until 1991. I have also served on the Athol City Council.
6. Do you describe yourself as fiscally conservative? Please, elaborate.
Yes. I believe in saving money and small government.
7. Do you consider yourself as socially conservative? Please elaborate.
Yes. I believe in only 2 genders and keeping men out of women's sports.
8. Describe which party platform best aligns with your positions on public policy (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutional Party) and where do you disagree with that platform.
I am a conservative Republican.
9. Do you have any history of tax liens, criminal record, bankruptcy or conflict of interest that may affect your future decisions or desirability to be voted into office?
No.
