Resolution supporting the John Birch Society
Whereas, the mission of the John Birch Society is to bring about less government, more responsibility, and - with God’s help - a better world by providing leadership, education, and organized volunteer action in accordance with moral and Constitutional principles; and
Whereas, the John Birch Society enthusiastically endorses the U.S. Constitution, and has worked for over 60 years toward education and activating Americans to abide by the original intent of the Founding Fathers; and
Whereas, the John Birch Society endorses the timeless principles of the Declaration of Independence which proclaimed that our personal right come from God, not from the government; and
Whereas, the Idaho Republican Party expresses firstly in our party platform that we believe the strength of our nation lies with our faith and reliance on God our Creator; and
Whereas, Idaho Republicans, according to our platform, also believe the United States Constitution is the greatest and most inspired document to govern a nation; and
Whereas, the Coeur d’Alene Press reported that Kootenai County Commissioner Bill Brooks has voluntarily disaffiliated from the Idaho Republican Party in part because the Kootenai Republican Party is tolerant of the John Birch Society, therefore,
Be it resolved, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee affirms that the John Birch society is a valuable organization that is dedicated to restoring the Republic according to the vision of the Founding Fathers; and
Be it resolved, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee urges Idahoans who do not support our party platform to follow the example of Bill Brooks and voluntarily disaffiliate from the Idaho Republican Party; and
Be it resolved, the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee submits this resolution for consideration by the Idaho Republican State Central Committee.
