Tell us a little about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area and your occupation.

I am a retired Mechanical Engineer having worked in the Semiconductor Capital Equipment and Defense industries. My wife Jerryne and I moved to this area in 2018 from the Santa Cruz California area. We have two children and 5 grandchildren. Our son and family live in Hayden and our daughter and family live in California.

1. Do you have experience as an elected official and if so, what was your position, and how would you describe your voting record?

I do not have experience as an elected official.

2. Please tell us about your activity as a Republican. Have you previously voted for candidates of other parties? If yes, explain.

I have voted Republican for most of my life although I voted for Jimmy Carter back in 1976. I may have voted for an independent a few times but I don't recall any specific time I did that.

3. What is the purpose of government?

To serve and represent the citizens in the running of our nation, state, county and localities.

4. Describe why you are running for this particular office. What are your qualifications? What are your goals?

I live in the area that is served by the Alpine Meadows Water and Sewer District and I would like to serve our area on this board. Primarily I would like to do my part to ensure we have save and reliable water at a reasonable cost. I also have an interest in learning about the water system from a mechanical and operational perspective. Things such as flow capacity margin, redundancy, back up power in the event of a power loss, water source, piping system. These things are of interest to me and I feel if I have a good understanding of them I could perhaps serve better. My engineering background would help in these areas. I have held many leadership positions in my career.

5. Describe experiences where you are or have been engaged such as non-profit organizations, clubs, churches, boards, commissions, etc., where you have been of service to others.

I served as a year-round volunteer for Operation Christmas Child for Samaritan's Purse as a Logistics Coordinator for 3 years until the end of 2023. We recently signed up to serve on Disaster Relief for the same organization but have not been called to provide service yet (but expect to for the Palisades fire). We serve through our church on various projects such as helping at Christian camps (clean up, replace flooring) etc.

6. Do you describe yourself as fiscally conservative? Please, elaborate.

Yes. For example, we have always purchased our vehicles without loans (i.e. cash). We are debt free and own our home. We don't always buy "new" when that makes sense (e.g. our boat and motorhome were used but in great shape).

7. Do you consider yourself as socially conservative? Please elaborate.

Yes. We are aligned with conservative positions in most areas. We are pro-life and marched for the March for Life recently along highway 95.

8. Describe which party platform best aligns with your positions on public policy (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutional Party) and where do you disagree with that platform.

Republican. Pretty much aligned with the Republican party on social policies and views, environment, fiscal positions.

9. Do you have any history of tax liens, criminal record, bankruptcy or conflict of interest that may affect your future decisions or desirability to be voted into office?

No
10. Describe how you will make yourself available to your constituents
and vote as their representative with FORTITUDE, adhering to the values
and answers you have stated above.

My constituents are my neighbors in Alpine Meadows. We live in a very friendly neighborhood and know many of our neighbors. We host a "Pinewood Way" BBQ get together in the summer. I feel I can discuss "controversial" subjects with our neighbors even if we disagree on some things. I am an approachable person. With my many years of engineering management experience and training I am able to communicate fairly effectively.
