Tell us a little about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area and your occupation.
I am a lifelong Idahoan. I was raised by my father and my Grandmother. I have been hunting and fishing with my father since I was old enough to walk. I have been camping in every county and corner of this great state. I grew up in Boise, and spent most of my Summers in McCall at YMCA camp. I attended as a camper and Counselor.
1. Do you have experience as an elected official and if so, what was your position, and how would you describe your voting record?
I have not yet had the pleasure to have been an elected official. I would describe my voting record as republican.
2. Please tell us about your activity as a Republican. Have you previously voted for candidates of other parties? If yes, explain.
I vote, and have voted republican all my life.
3. What is the purpose of government?
To serve the people.
4. Describe why you are running for this particular office. What are your qualifications? What are your goals?
I am running for this board seat to participate in serving my community. I am qualified as not just a resident of the district, but also as a life long Idahoan that has been blessed to drink out of numerous fresh streams and mountain lakes. My goals on this board are to attend all relevant meetings, listen to community concerns and collaborate with other board members to find solutions to enhance and promote a safe and clean water source.
5. Describe experiences where you are or have been engaged such as non-profit organizations, clubs, churches, boards, commissions, etc., where you have been of service to others.
I have been a member of the YMCA since kindergarten, where I volunteered as a youth and teen. I was on the board of Lake Coeur d'Alene Anglers Association where I helped raise money for the Big One Chinook Derby. I participated in building a Weir to help Fish and Game get an idea of our Chinook Salmon numbers. I volunteered at The Kootenai County Humane Society.
6. Do you describe yourself as fiscally conservative? Please, elaborate.
I would say yes. I think that is a question that is not easily answered since it can be easily twisted. All money should be accounted for and not wasted on frivolous things. Allowing people to buy candy and soda with food stamps is irresponsible, especially if those people are not being drug tested.
7. Do you consider yourself as socially conservative? Please elaborate.
I do consider myself socially conservative. I do believe people should have their choices to do and say what they want. If their choices do not align with the majority, they should move instead of making problems in their community.
8. Describe which party platform best aligns with your positions on public policy (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutional Party) and where do you disagree with that platform.
I am probably a mix of Republican / Constitutional Party.
9. Do you have any history of tax liens, criminal record, bankruptcy or conflict of interest that may affect your future decisions or desirability to be voted into office?
I do not have any history of tax liens, I have a minor criminal record (more than 25 years ago), I do not have a bankruptcy or conflict of interest.
10. Describe how you will make yourself available to your constituents and vote as their representative with FORTITUDE, adhering to the values and answers you have stated above.
I am honest and open in all my affairs, as I expect others to be. I will continue to hold fast to my morals and values and serve my community as well as I can.
