Tell us a little about yourself and your family, how long you have lived in the area and your occupation.: I am 57 years old and have lived in the Kingston area all of my life with the exception of two years when I attended a Trade School in Yakima , Washington. I have worked in the Silver Valley and surrounding areas as an Electrical contractor since 1991. Most of my work has been with the local mines and Water/Sewer Districts. I have always had an interest in maintaining and preserving the utility infrastructures and the natural resources of the rural communities in the area.
I have been married to my wife Kristi, for 24 years.

1. Do you have experience as an elected official and if so, what was your position, and how would you describe your voting record?: I was appointed to the KSSWCC Board the first time in April of 2022. I completed that term and then was appointed to complete the term that I am currently serving in now. In both cases I was appointed to fill positions that that were vacated by other members that were unable to complete their terms. These are nonpartisan positions.

2. Please tell us about your activity as a Republican. Have you previously voted for candidates of other parties? If yes, explain.: I prefer Republican philosophies. As mentioned above, the KSSWCC is a nonpartisan organization.

3. What is the purpose of government?: To work for the people.

4. Describe why you are running for this particular office. What are your qualifications? What are your goals?: I have enjoyed working with this organization. I believe they are very good stewards of the resources they manage.
I have learned a lot from the individuals I've been able to work with and I would like to continue to do so.
As one of the junior members of the Board I feel I am in a great position to observe and learn from the more experienced members that have been involved with the commission for many years.
I also feel it is important beneficial to have a voice from Shoshone County on the Board.

5. Describe experiences where you are or have been engaged such as non-profit organizations, clubs, churches, boards, commissions, etc., where you have been of service to others.: In past years I have occasionally been involved in a few auto clubs but my career has always kept me extremely busy.
I spend the majority of my free time trying to maintain the property where I live.

6. Do you describe yourself as fiscally conservative? Please, elaborate.: Yes, I believe it's very important to be fiscally responsible and transparent when allocating funds that originate from tax payers.

7. Do you consider yourself as socially conservative? Please elaborate.: I prefer to preserve the traditional values and beliefs I grew up with.
"Socially conservative" is probably a matter of perspective.

8. Describe which party platform best aligns with your positions on public policy (Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Constitutional Party) and where do you disagree with that platform.: Republican

9. Do you have any history of tax liens, criminal record, bankruptcy or conflict of interest that may affect your future decisions or desirability to be voted into office?: I had a medical bankruptcy about 30 years ago while in a previous marriage.

10.Describe how you will make yourself available to your constituents and vote as their representative with FORTITUDE, adhering to the values and answers you have stated above.:As Board members, we are always available at our regular monthly meetings and can be contacted through our CDA office. My home number is in the phone book and I share my cell number with individuals when requested.
